![]() NTU are well known to send out high amounts of unconditional offers when other universities wouldn’t consider doing it - it’s a university that doesn’t try very hard to discriminate by grades coming in, so it isn’t seen as academically rigorous. Please can someone on here reassure me that most people aren't of this mindset? I've seen this with other universities that aren't Russel group and it's honestly very disheartening (as someone who is fully capable of getting into a Russel group uni, but doesn't want to) and I really think it comes down a lot to classism and/or gatekeeping the university experience a little bit. I've heard numerous good things about Trent from people in the film industry so this just battles me a little bit Unless it's Cambridge or Oxford I don't see employers actually caring which uni you went to, rather the experience you had and the things you did during your degree. I do not understand why people would choose to put down those who want to go to university. I'm very excited and found I really connected with the teaching mindset when I went there but from what I've heard online people consider Trent to be bad?įrom what I've heard, it's mainly due to the fact that there is a higher rate of acceptance and that there are a lot of parties, but also because it used to be a polytechnic. I'm an A* A* A predicted a-level student and have decided to go to NTU for their design for stage and screen course (starting in September!!). ![]() ![]() Useful website to see how different of a city your home town is to a potential city you might move to for university - you can also check differences in crime and pollutionįor the /r/uniuk Wiki, click here!
